Global Citizenship Fellows Attend IAJU Assembly

From June 30 to July 3, the Global Citizenship Fellows Program brought 10 students from across the world to Bogotá, Colombia, for the 2025 Assembly of the International Association of Jesuit Universities (IAJU). As the only group of student delegates formally participating in the assembly, the fellows represented a unique cross section of the global Jesuit university network. Their presence underscored a shared commitment to forming students as global citizens in a fractured world.

The Global Citizenship Project Expands Reach in Advance of Bogotá Assembly

In the fall 2024 semester, the Global Citizenship Curriculum Project of the International Association of Jesuit Universities (IAJU) brought together over 700 students from 37 institutions across 20 countries. Since its pilot semester in spring 2023, the program has supported roughly 2,000 students from 59 institutions in 26 countries. In fall 2024, it welcomed new professors and their students from Chile, Portugal, Madagascar, Thailand, the Philippines, and more, increasing its numbers as well as its diversity in international perspectives.

IAJU Global Citizenship Fellows Travel to Rome, Italy

IAJU Global Citizenship Fellows Program is an initiative of the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs at Georgetown University and the International Association of Jesuit Universities that empowers students from Jesuit universities around the world to become leaders in global citizenship. In June 2024, the latest cohort of fellows gathered in Rome for a transformative week-long study tour. There, they engaged in dynamic workshops, thought-provoking lectures, and enriching cultural excursions, all designed to deepen their understanding of global citizenship and inspire actionable solutions to pressing global issues.

Educating Global Citizens: The Growth of the Global Citizenship Curriculum Project

As the fall 2023 semester progresses, the Global Citizenship Curriculum Project of the International Association of Jesuit Universities (IAJU) is having a growing impact around the world. Building upon the foundation laid in spring 2023, this semester the project has so far engaged over 800 students across almost 50 courses at 31 Jesuit universities in 14 countries, ranging from the United States to Zimbabwe to Japan, weaving a rich tapestry of global perspectives.
